On Tuesday, Nov. 22, representatives from LochemEnergie launched Grexx Platform marking a poignant moment for both Grexx and the cooperative. At the kick-off event, Grexx coach Yannis Haritos outlined the steps to develop the first application while Director Bob Duindam explained why they collaborated with Grexx, saying, "the energy transition that we support from our cooperative also requires a digitalization transition. The cooperative is an organization of six employees, over 100 volunteers and many suppliers. They are all committed to meeting the growing demand among residents and organizations within the Lochem municipality."
Digital solution.
Such an operation requires a lot of organization and coordination, a process that LochemEnergie wants support by digitization. As Bob Duindam said, "in order to make maximum use of the efforts of all the different parties, we need processes in which the coordination between those parties runs smoothly. This means, among other things, that we need to know the availability and expertise of all our energy coaches, want to track the progress of the coaching processes, and want to consult all documents in one place. Obviously, with the growth in the number of applications and volunteers, this can no longer be done without digitalization. At the same time, we do place high demands on digital solutions. For example, they must meet all security and privacy requirements. Also, the costs must be affordable by the Cooperative."
Grexx Platform.
With the implantation of Grexx, Lochem users are in control of their own processes, one of the advantages of Grexx Platform, Duindam said. "The idea that our volunteers are involved in the development of their own processes is a very attractive thought. That is an important reason for getting started with the Grexx Platform."
To ensure success, Grexx does not leave the new developers to their own devices, offering its low-code platform along with its learning environment and coaching services. The Lochem volunteers undergo training before starting and are supported during the development process by a coach from Grexx. After a short introductory period, they can then start developing the process of applying for an energy coach under guidance. We hope that the first application will go live within three months.
An ideal combination.
When the first process is finished, it can be made available to everyone via Grexx Platform. This enables them to use the self-created application that they helped create. In the meantime, second, third, and fourth process can be developed. It’s an ideal combination of using the experiences of volunteers and using the cloud platform. When the first experiences are positive, it marks the beginning of what can be a successful partnership. "It is difficult to set up processes specifically applied to the work of an energy cooperative. When this succeeds with our volunteers, we would then like to share it with other cooperatives," Bob Duindam confided in us.
A successful start for Lochem, with ambitious goals for the future!
